EXPLANATORY REMARKS,
Salary of the Aide-de-Camp.
Salary of the Assistant Colonial Secretary and Salaries and Allowance for Cadets.
The Contingencies for Printing, Stationery, Coals, &c., transferred to Miscellaneous Services,
Increase to Salary of the Chief Clerk and Contingencies.
Additional Clerk of Works, Land Surveyor, increase of Salaries to 2nd Clerk and Overseers,
transfer of Overseers from Public Work, Sanitary and Telegraphs Staff.
Decrease in personal Allowance to Postmaster and Assistant Postmaster, abolition of a Junior Clerk, &c., reduced Salary of the Clerk at Shanghai, but increase in Salaries of 2 Clerks, Allowances and Contingencies.
Decrease in Salary and Allowance of the passed Cadet who has been appointed Assistant Colonial Secretary.
The Salaries and Contingencies of the Marine Surveyor have been transferred under Harbour Department; and the Personal Allowance to Harbour Master, and the 2nd Clerk, and Inspector of Junks
It is now incorporated with the Harbour Department, hence the decrease.
New Department.
Increase to Salary of the Shroff.
Salary of Head Gardener and 1 Apprentice.
Increase in Salaries of the Registrar of Court and Companies, the two Deputy Registrars, one Chinese Accountant, the Staff of Land Registry transferred from Supreme Court, and the Increased Allowance and Contingencies.
Increased Salary of the 2nd Master and a Chinese Clerk.
Decrease in Salary of Assistant Superintendent who was transferred to Lock Hospital, but
increase of the Superintendent's Salary.
Increase in Salary and Allowance to the Coroner and a Messenger.
Less Salary and Allowance of the Deputy Superintendent and the 5th Clerk.
